Carmen O. Perez, the first Chicana to serve on the Long Beach Harbor Commission (1991-2003), started as a Girl Scout and PTA leader co-founded the Long Beach Chicano Political Caucus, organized with Long Beach’s Centro de la Raza / East Neighborhood Center, and served at the state level and as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee. Hear her story in a room with the best view in town.
